CODEX Entry 3013: Lake Van
Van Lake is one of the world’s largest endorheic lakes, with no outlet. Its high salinity prevents it from freezing. The lake is believed, by locals, to hide many mysterious things. In 2019 researchers from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University discovered a 3000-year-old Urartu castle more than 50m below the surface¹.
